What does that quote mean?

Briefly explain the quote:

The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will.

Vince Lombardi
1913-1970, American football coach

This quote means to me that you dont have to be the strongest, nor the smartest to be successful. All you need is to have the "want", not giving up in what you want to do.

I think this quote means that no matter if your a successful person or not, your in a lack of will. A non successful person had a lack of strength and a lack of knowledge. So we should be a successful person and have knowledge and strenght, unlike a non successful person.

i dis agree wit the quote cuz were im from thier aint no such thing as lack of will.... u either street smart or ya street strong. being that this chump is a foot ball coach, he can say a smarter dude could take a hit from the stronger guy and figure it out by his countulations or suttin like dat ya dig... any who im saying i rather just watch foose ball then play it.. thats being smart

I agree with the quote because in order to be a sucessful I have to believe in the things I am capable of doing. For example: This morning I could've stood home In bed because it was to cold but I decided to come to school so I wont miss any work.

I agree with this quote by Vince Lombardi. It's not always the smartest person who gets the fame and fortune, always come out on top. There's people who aren't so smart but have this will and confidence to make it. For example, I would never thought of me getting on the high honor roll, but I did. If I believe that I can do it again in, anything can happen and it will.

To me this quote means that a successful person is no different cause he is smarter or stronger he is different because he had more will then the rest and I believe this to be true.for example civil rights leaders where not the bigest or the britest but they had alot of will.

I agree with this quote. This quote means to me, that's your choice in life whether to work hard to be successful. It depend in every individual how much he or she puts into things. For ex: My aunt she a very successful person. She always telling me to do good. That doesn't make me do it onless Ireally put myself for it. It takes wanting something very hard.

I agree with this quote. This quote means that a successful person doesnt always have knowledge or strength. A successful person has will or ambition to do what he/she wants oppose to others who dont have will or the "want" to get what they desire in life. For example today was extremely cold outside and i had the will to get here today. This makes me the "successful person" and those who didnt come to school are the "others" because they lacked in will for not showig up to school.

I agree with this quote. I believe this quote means that it does not matter how smart one may be what does matter is if the person has ambition and hunger to succeed. I believe anyone can be smart or bright however, it takes ambition and will power to go where it is you want to go in life. I often find myself in a this particular situation where I know I could accomplish a task and choose not to because I'm disoriented or don't feel like it.

I agree with this quote cause I can become successful just as long as I try hard and put my mind to it, skies the limit. If I wanted to be successful I'd put all my will power in to it but someone who is lazy wouldn't put in as much will power in.

I agree with this quote. No matter how much knowledge I aquire is meaningless with out will. The power to thrive and drive forward in hopeless situations is the true pure power of will. In my life I have seen this theroy come to the surface when I was in a hopeless political situation against a more academic student, but that didn't stop me from pushing with my opinons. In the end I was successful thanks to my will.

I do not agree with this particlar quote. This quote is right in some ways and wrong in others. Just because someone is not successful does not mean they lack knowledge. Maybe they tried and did not get there for other reasons but that does not lack the skill of tringto succeed.

I think Vince Lombardi was saying in this quote that success doesnt come to any person, one always has to go that extra mile, or some have that extra "factor"...I agree with this quote because one with will can achieve more because of the heart and that extra "factor".

I agree with the quote. The qutoe means that if I want to be a successful person I have to have the will. For a example if I want to become a baseball player I do not need to be the strongest or the smartest, I have to be willing to do it. I would like to pass in school because I want to go to college, but it is on my own will to do it.

I agree with this quote because people can always say they can do something but they say and don't do.This quote means a person who is not successful its not because they don't have strength or knowledge, its a persons will power that they need to get were they want to go. A person who is successful had the knowledge, strength, and will to get the job done.

I agree with this quote. I agree with this because I believe that I am a smart girl but because I choose to be lazy I have a lot of credits to make up. This quote is saying that in life people are generally blessed with their own special attributes, but some choose to take those gifts and make use of them. Success is measured by how much a person accomplishs, and you are only able to accomplish what you are willing to put in.

I agree with this quote because it is true. People don't have to have book smarts to be succesful. They have to be motivated within themselves. Having passion for whatever people want to do will make them successful.

I agree with this quote , because it doesnt matter if I am the strongest or smartest person if I don't put it to use it isn't any good. There are people who aren't smart and aren't strong but still are in a better situation then some for example I could of stayed at home caring for my son, but I decided to come to school so that I can finish and graduate.

I agree with this qoute because I don't need to be the strongest or the smartest to be succesful in life. I need to do my thing, really put my mind to it, and go for what I want. for example I really don't wanna wake up for school in the morning but I have to succeed.

I agree with the quote in a sense that the quote briefly explains the person's ability not by the person's strength and what the person knows but the desire to do something. For example, I didn't have a will to go to school but I now do have that will to go in order for me to make a living and support myself.

I agree with this quote because the difference between a successful person and a other is the wanting to do things. It does not matter if having a lot of strength or knowledge, has to want something for themself. For example: It is hard coming to school everyday. Do I want to do it? No but I have no choose and I have the will to school.

I agree with this quote. I have knowledge and I am strong in some situations but if I don't try hard enough to do something then I won't succeed. For example, I only had till January to finish school. Then I got lazy and began to be excessively absent. It affected me and now I'm doing third cycle. Which if I put effort into school this cycle, I would be done.

I agree with this quote by Vince Lombard. I think this quote means that It does not make a difference If I am successful because I may have the power to want to do something. I may not have the right information because of I lack of education. If I push myself I can become successful I must want It In order to get It . For example I have a friend who wants to graduate this year and he only has 24 credits. He knows he can pass the class but he has to want to pass by going to Am and Pm school.

Yes, I do agree with this quote. A person could know how to get some where or maybe even have the ability to get to a specific level, but it takes the urge in a person and them wanting it for themselves in order for the task success to be completed. Nothing would ever get done without time ,patience ,endurance and actually going foward with completing the task. One way that I can personally can say I went through with this quote was when I finally got my job at McDonalds. I wanted a job so bad and I was asking my friends to hook me up with a job. Finally I went and applied and got hired.

I agree with the quote. The quote is saying that the person who is not successful is the type who "lacks of will" , because they dont want to achieve a goal in life. They want to give up and dont want to succeed. My life experience is similar in a way I did not want to contiune my goals since my mother had passed away. That has taken all my will and strength away in completing school and my life goals. But now I changed and now I'm finishing what I started.

The quote"The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will. I disagree with this quote because if you don't have the knowledge or understanding of something there is no way you can be successful in what you are doing.Once I was playing basketball against a much stronger, more skillful player, but I had more desire and will to win yet i still lost.

I agree with the quote. I feel this quote means that success is based on ones determination and how motivated one is. For example I'm still in highschool well over the age of an actual 12th grader but I am still determined to finish school and me still being in highschool isn't due to a lack of knowledge it was more a lack being motivated.

I agree with the quote. The quote means to me that it doesn't matter if I have the strength or knowledge but if I have the feeling of doing it, the want to do it and not to give up. A example is today when I came to school on time.
